What I wish I put on my Baby Registry

Updated: Jun 11, 2018

Blogs on this site may contain Amazon or other affiliate links, which means if you click on a link, I may receive a small commission.

So, it's been a little over a month since my little one has made his appearance. I can't believe how fast they grow up! I mean...I can! I have an 8 and 9 year old and it seems like I just blinked and they are wanting to do things with their friends now instead of me! As for my little man, he is already doing so much! He still does sleep quite a bit but, he can stay up for 2 hours at a time while being alert!

I sort of feel like I'm a new mom again! I mean it has been 8 years! So, let's just say I was a little rusty when it came to putting things on my registry. Honestly, I added most of the items at 3 a.m when I couldn't sleep...lol.

So first, let me tell you where you should register!

1. Target

-Target was one of my favorite places to register! Shortly after registering I received a $20 dollar gift card in the mail just for starting a registry. If you go to the store and let them know you started a registry, they will also give you a little gift bag filled with samples. I believe my bag had a bottle, pacifier, diaper and wipe samples, some other things, and tons of coupons.

-They also give you 15% off everything that is left on your registry usually about 2 months before your due date.

-They have easy returns and exchanges up to a year after your due date for things that are purchased from your registry.

-Also, I just received a little package in the mail the other day. It happened to be a cute little onesie from Target welcoming my baby. #targetrun

2. Amazon

-Of course, Amazon has to be one of my top registry places!

-So with Amazon's registry they also send you a welcome box with a bunch of goodies and coupons as well! However, you do have to be a prime member... but, you can always sign up for a free 1 month trial here. Just remember if you do not plan on starting your membership to check do not auto-renew or you can simply change it under "Your Account"> "Prime" and then set auto-renew to "No".

-Amazon also offers 10% (or 15% if you have an Amazon prime membership) off registry on 1 entire purchase order starting 60 days before your due date. I do believe they now offer this deal two times now!

- Click here to sign up for an Amazon Baby Registry

- You can add items that are on other websites to your Amazon baby registry using Amazon Assistant.

3. Babies R US

-Babies R Us also offers some great benefits for creating a registry with them. I also received a welcome bag with a bunch of goodies. They even had a starter kit for the Kiinde Twist which I really love! It is great for breastfeeding mothers!

- They also price match with competitors! They also have the 15% completion discount off an entire purchase.

- They have a "endless earnings" program where you receive up to 10% back from items purchased from your registry. Be sure to add items that you want to purchase as well from your registry to receive earnings back! Approximately 12 weeks after your due date they will send you an e-gift card with your earnings!

- They offer a 1 year, no hassle, no questions returns!

So, now that you know where you should make your baby registries, let me tell you what I wish I would have put on there!

Update: Well sadly, this isn't an option anymore due to the fact that Babies R'US is going out of business. However, I think that if they would actually veer off and become their own store they may be able to be sustain in the industry. But, that is just my two cents. *shrugs*

Top 10 items that should be on your Baby Registry

I never realized how much baby towels were. I guess it just has been so long! Baby towels seem to be more expensive than regular towels!

I'm not sure why but a crib set seems to cost a fortune! I guess with all the excitement of creating your nursery they feel they can charge an arm and a leg for the the set! So this is a good item that would be great for someone else to buy!

My favorite just happens to be the Kiinde Twist pouches. They are absolutely wonderful and they have adapters to fit any breast pump. Then you can feed baby straight from the storage pouch! Very easy and convenient! Another plus is that the nipples are of course breast feeding friendly! My little man took the bottle with no problem!

Trust me on this one! I actually found out that a lot of hospitals aren't giving babies pacifiers anymore. I actually had to bring my own to the hospital in my hospital bag! They are fairly cheap but they can get lost often! My favorite pacifier is the one that they used to give out at the hospital called the Soothie pacifier.

This one right here is a life saver! My little man loves to fall asleep to white noise! I was originally using my phone to play YouTube videos of white noise but then I would always have my phone tied up and wouldn't be able to use it. So this little Sound spa has definitely come in handy.

6. Swing

The first couple of weeks the swing becomes pretty much the babies favorite toy! I did a lot of research and reviewed reviews of swings and I found that the Fisher Price swing seems to be a really good swing for the price. This is definitely one I wish I would have had on my list!

So, I know this is a very controversial topic. To Co-sleep or not to co-sleep. Honestly, I say to each is own. You have to do what is best for you and your baby! Just make sure you do it safely! The Baby Delight Snuggle Nest co-sleeper allows baby to safely sleep in the bed with you while having it's own space.

This is one of the items that I used the MOST. We decided to get the play yard with the bassinet insert so that we could get more use out of it. We have a crib but decided that we wanted to baby to sleep in the room with us for a while. So until he transitions to his crib, he will continue to sleep in hies bassinet and/or co-sleeper.

This is another item that I use daily! This is so helpful when it comes to breastfeeding. It gives baby some support while feeding so that it is easy to bring baby to the breast. You can also use the Boppy to sit baby up and it is also a good photo shoot pillow! ;)

10. Gift cards

Well, that is pretty self-explanatory. You can use gift cards on whatever you would like. You can even use it for non-baby items and splurge on yourself a little bit! Go ahead because you deserve it!

Thanks for taking the time out to read my blog. Be sure to leave a comment below if you have any items that I didn't list that you think would be helpful to add a baby registry.
